His Excellency the Minister of Digital Transformation and Administrative Modernization, Mr. Ahmed Salem Bouhde Ouechefig, emphasized that adopting the national strategy for artificial intelligence represents a pivotal step in the vision of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, aimed at achieving digital transformation as a tool for inclusive and sustainable development in Mauritania. This was stated during the opening of a workshop by the Minister to present the national strategy for artificial intelligence.
The Minister pointed out that artificial intelligence is no longer merely a limited technical tool, but has become a key driver for societal development, economic advancement, achieving social justice, and enhancing efficiency. He added that this technology significantly contributes to improving citizens' quality of life by supporting human capacities, advancing scientific research, and fostering technological innovation.
He highlighted several examples of AI applications, including enhancing healthcare through early disease detection and medical image analysis, allowing doctors to provide timely treatment. In the field of education, artificial intelligence will enable smart educational platforms that provide a customized learning experience for each student, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the educational process.
